Evening Remembrance (Adhkar)
أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
اللّهُ لاَ إِلَـهَ إِلاَّ هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ لاَ تَأْخُذُهُ سِنَةٌ وَلاَ نَوْمٌ لَّهُ مَا فِي السَّمَاوَاتِ وَمَا فِي الأَرْضِ مَن ذَا الَّذِي يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهُ إِلاَّ بِإِذْنِهِ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ وَلاَ يُحِيطُونَ بِشَيْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهِ إِلاَّ بِمَا شَاء وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمَاوَاتِ وَالأَرْضَ وَلاَ يَؤُودُهُ حِفْظُهُمَا وَهُوَ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيمُ.
I seek refuge in Allah from the accursed Satan.
Allah - there is no deity except Him, the Ever-Living, the Sustainer of existence. Neither drowsiness overtakes Him nor sleep. To Him belongs whatever is in the heavens and whatever is on the earth. Who is it that can intercede with Him except by His permission? He knows what is before them and what will be after them, and they encompass not a thing of His knowledge except for what He wills. His Kursi extends over the heavens and the earth, and their preservation tires Him not. And He is the Most High, the Most Great.
Whoever recites it in the morning will be protected from the jinn until evening, and whoever recites it in the evening will be protected from the jinn until morning.
أَعُوذُ بِاللهِ مِنْ الشَّيْطَانِ الرَّجِيمِ
آمَنَ الرَّسُولُ بِمَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ رَبِّهِ وَالْمُؤْمِنُونَ ۚ كُلٌّ آمَنَ بِاللَّهِ وَمَلَائِكَتِهِ وَكُتُبِهِ وَرُسُلِهِ لَا نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِنْ رُسُلِهِ ۚ وَقَالُوا سَمِعْنَا وَأَطَعْنَا ۖ غُفْرَانَكَ رَبَّنَا وَإِلَيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ. لَا يُكَلِّفُ اللَّهُ نَفْسًا إِلَّا وُسْعَهَا لَهَا مَا كَسَبَتْ وَعَلَيْهَا مَا اكْتَسَبَتْ رَبَّنَا لَا تُؤَاخِذْنَا إِنْ نَّسِينَآ أَوْ أَخْطَأْنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تَحْمِلْ عَلَيْنَا إِصْرًا كَمَا حَمَلْتَهُ عَلَى الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِنَا رَبَّنَا وَلَا تُحَمِّلْنَا مَا لَا طَاقَةَ لَنَا بِهِ وَاعْفُ عَنَّا وَاغْفِرْ لَنَا وَارْحَمْنَا أَنْتَ مَوْلَانَا فَانْصُرْنَا عَلَى الْقَوْمِ الْكَافِرِينَ.
The Messenger has believed in what was revealed to him from his Lord, and so have the believers. All of them have believed in Allah, His angels, His books, and His messengers - we make no distinction between any of His messengers. And they say: We hear and we obey; [we seek] Your forgiveness, our Lord, and to You is the [final] destination. Allah does not charge a soul except with what it can bear; it will have [the consequence of] what [good] it has gained, and it will bear [the consequence of] what [evil] it has earned. Our Lord, do not impose blame upon us if we forget or make a mistake. Our Lord, and lay not upon us a burden like that which You laid upon those before us. Our Lord, and burden us not with that which we have no ability to bear; and pardon us, forgive us, and have mercy upon us. You are our protector, so give us victory over the disbelieving people.
Whoever recites the last two verses of Surah Al-Baqarah at night, they will suffice him.
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيم
قُلْ هُوَ ٱللَّهُ أَحَدٌ، ٱللَّهُ ٱلصَّمَدُ، لَمْ يَلِدْ وَلَمْ يُولَدْ، وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ كُفُوًا أَحَدٌۢ.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say: He is Allah, [who is] One, Allah, the Eternal Refuge. He neither begets nor is born, nor is there to Him any equivalent.
Whoever recites it morning and evening, it will suffice him against everything (Al-Ikhlas and the two Mu'awwidhatayn).
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيم
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلْفَلَقِ، مِن شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ، وَمِن شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ إِذَا وَقَبَ، وَمِن شَرِّ ٱلنَّفَّٰثَٰتِ فِى ٱلْعُقَدِ، وَمِن شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ إِذَا حَسَدَ.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of daybreak, from the evil of that which He created, and from the evil of darkness when it settles, and from the evil of the blowers in knots, and from the evil of an envier when he envies.
Whoever recites it morning and evening, it will suffice him against everything (Al-Ikhlas and the two Mu'awwidhatayn).
بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمنِ الرَّحِيم
قُلْ أَعُوذُ بِرَبِّ ٱلنَّاسِ، مَلِكِ ٱلنَّاسِ، إِلَٰهِ ٱلنَّاسِ، مِن شَرِّ ٱلْوَسْوَاسِ ٱلْخَنَّاسِ، ٱلَّذِى يُوَسْوِسُ فِى صُدُورِ ٱلنَّاسِ، مِنَ ٱلْجِنَّةِ وَٱلنَّاسِ.
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
Say: I seek refuge in the Lord of mankind, the Sovereign of mankind, the God of mankind, from the evil of the retreating whisperer - who whispers [evil] into the breasts of mankind - from among the jinn and mankind.
Whoever recites it morning and evening, it will suffice him against everything (Al-Ikhlas and the two Mu'awwidhatayn).
أَمْسَيْـنا وَأَمْسـى المـلكُ لله وَالحَمدُ لله ، لا إلهَ إلاّ اللّهُ وَحدَهُ لا شَريكَ لهُ، لهُ المُـلكُ ولهُ الحَمْـد، وهُوَ على كلّ شَيءٍ قدير ، رَبِّ أسْـأَلُـكَ خَـيرَ ما في هـذهِ اللَّـيْلَةِ وَخَـيرَ ما بَعْـدَهـا ، وَأَعـوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَـرِّ ما في هـذهِ اللَّـيْلةِ وَشَرِّ ما بَعْـدَهـا ، رَبِّ أَعـوذُبِكَ مِنَ الْكَسَـلِ وَسـوءِ الْكِـبَر ، رَبِّ أَعـوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَـذابٍ في النّـارِ وَعَـذابٍ في القَـبْر.
We have entered the evening and with it all dominion belongs to Allah, and all praise is for Allah. None has the right to be worshipped except Allah, alone, without partner; to Him belongs all dominion and praise, and He is over all things omnipotent. My Lord, I ask You for the good of this night, its victory, its help, its light, its blessings and its guidance, and I seek refuge in You from the evil in it and the evil that follows it. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from laziness and senility. My Lord, I seek refuge in You from torment in the Fire and punishment in the grave.
اللّهـمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّـي لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْتَ ، خَلَقْتَنـي وَأَنا عَبْـدُك ، وَأَنا عَلـى عَهْـدِكَ وَوَعْـدِكَ ما اسْتَـطَعْـت ، أَعـوذُبِكَ مِنْ شَـرِّ ما صَنَـعْت ، أَبـوءُ لَـكَ بِنِعْـمَتِـكَ عَلَـيَّ وَأَبـوءُ بِذَنْـبي فَاغْفـِرْ لي فَإِنَّـهُ لا يَغْـفِرُ الذُّنـوبَ إِلاّ أَنْتَ .
O Allah, You are my Lord, none has the right to be worshipped except You. You created me and I am Your slave, and I abide by Your covenant and promise as best I can. I take refuge in You from the evil of what I have done. I acknowledge Your favor upon me and I acknowledge my sin, so forgive me, for none forgives sins except You.
Whoever recites it in the evening with firm faith in it and dies during that night will enter Paradise; and likewise if he recites it in the morning.
رَضيـتُ بِاللهِ رَبَّـاً وَبِالإسْلامِ ديـناً وَبِمُحَـمَّدٍ صلى الله عليه وسلم نَبِيّـاً.
I am pleased with Allah as my Lord, with Islam as my religion and with Muhammad (peace be upon him) as my Prophet.
Whoever says this in the morning and the evening, it will be incumbent upon Allah to please him on the Day of Resurrection.
اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أَمسيتُ أُشْـهِدُك ، وَأُشْـهِدُ حَمَلَـةَ عَـرْشِـك ، وَمَلَائِكَتَكَ ، وَجَمـيعَ خَلْـقِك ، أَنَّـكَ أَنْـتَ اللهُ لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْـتَ وَحْـدَكَ لا شَريكَ لَـك ، وَأَنَّ ُ مُحَمّـداً عَبْـدُكَ وَرَسـولُـك.
O Allah, I have entered the evening and I call upon You, and upon the bearers of Your Throne, Your angels and all of Your creation to bear witness that You are Allah, none has the right to be worshipped except You, alone, without partner, and that Muhammad is Your slave and Your Messenger.
Whoever says it, Allah will free him from the Fire.
اللّهُـمَّ ما أَمسى بي مِـنْ نِعْـمَةٍ أَو بِأَحَـدٍ مِـنْ خَلْـقِك ، فَمِـنْكَ وَحْـدَكَ لا شريكَ لَـك ، فَلَـكَ الْحَمْـدُ وَلَـكَ الشُّكْـر.
O Allah, whatever blessing I or any of Your creation have received this evening is from You alone, without partner, so to You belongs all praise and to You all thanks.
Whoever says this in the evening has completed his obligation of giving thanks for that day.
حَسْبِـيَ اللّهُ لا إلهَ إلاّ هُوَ عَلَـيهِ تَوَكَّـلتُ وَهُوَ رَبُّ العَرْشِ العَظـيم.
Allah is sufficient for me, there is none worthy of worship but Him. I have placed my trust in Him, He is Lord of the Mighty Throne.
Whoever says this, Allah will suffice him against whatever grieves him, whether of this world or the Hereafter.
بِسـمِ اللهِ الذي لا يَضُـرُّ مَعَ اسمِـهِ شَيءٌ في الأرْضِ وَلا في السّمـاءِ وَهـوَ السّمـيعُ العَلـيم.
In the name of Allah, with whose name nothing on earth or in the heaven can cause harm, and He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing.
No harm will come to him from Allah.
اللّهُـمَّ بِكَ أَمْسَـينا وَبِكَ أَصْـبَحْنا، وَبِكَ نَحْـيا وَبِكَ نَمُـوتُ وَإِلَـيْكَ الْمَصِيرُ.
O Allah, by You we enter the evening and by You we enter the morning, by You we live and by You we die, and to You is the final return.
أَمْسَيْنَا عَلَى فِطْرَةِ الإسْلاَمِ، وَعَلَى كَلِمَةِ الإِخْلاَصِ، وَعَلَى دِينِ نَبِيِّنَا مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، وَعَلَى مِلَّةِ أَبِينَا إبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفاً مُسْلِماً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ المُشْرِكِينَ.
We have entered the evening upon the natural religion of Islam, upon the word of sincere devotion, upon the religion of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), and upon the faith of our father Ibrahim, who was upright in submission (to Allah), a Muslim, and was not of those who associate partners with Allah.
سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ عَدَدَ خَلْـقِه ، وَرِضـا نَفْسِـه ، وَزِنَـةَ عَـرْشِـه ، وَمِـدادَ كَلِمـاتِـه.
Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him, by the number of His creation, by His pleasure with Himself, by the weight of His Throne, and by the extent of His words.
اللّهُـمَّ عافِـني في بَدَنـي ، اللّهُـمَّ عافِـني في سَمْـعي ، اللّهُـمَّ عافِـني في بَصَـري ، لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْـتَ.
O Allah, grant my body health. O Allah, grant my hearing health. O Allah, grant my sight health. There is none worthy of worship but You.
اللّهُـمَّ إِنّـي أَعـوذُ بِكَ مِنَ الْكُـفر ، وَالفَـقْر ، وَأَعـوذُ بِكَ مِنْ عَذابِ القَـبْر ، لا إلهَ إلاّ أَنْـتَ.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from disbelief and poverty, and I seek refuge in You from the punishment of the grave. There is none worthy of worship but You.
اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أسْـأَلُـكَ العَـفْوَ وَالعـافِـيةَ في الدُّنْـيا وَالآخِـرَة ، اللّهُـمَّ إِنِّـي أسْـأَلُـكَ العَـفْوَ وَالعـافِـيةَ في ديني وَدُنْـيايَ وَأهْـلي وَمالـي ، اللّهُـمَّ اسْتُـرْ عـوْراتي وَآمِـنْ رَوْعاتـي ، اللّهُـمَّ احْفَظْـني مِن بَـينِ يَدَيَّ وَمِن خَلْفـي وَعَن يَمـيني وَعَن شِمـالي ، وَمِن فَوْقـي ، وَأَعـوذُ بِعَظَمَـتِكَ أَن أُغْـتالَ مِن تَحْتـي.
O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in this life and the next. O Allah, I ask You for pardon and well-being in my religious and worldly affairs, and my family and my wealth. O Allah, conceal my faults and set at ease my dismay. O Allah, protect me from before me and behind me, and from my right and my left, and from above me. And I take refuge in Your greatness from being taken unaware from beneath me.
يَا حَيُّ يَا قيُّومُ بِرَحْمَتِكَ أسْتَغِيثُ أصْلِحْ لِي شَأنِي كُلَّهُ وَلاَ تَكِلْنِي إلَى نَفْسِي طَـرْفَةَ عَيْنٍ.
O Ever Living, O Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, by Your mercy I seek assistance, rectify for me all of my affairs and do not leave me to myself, even for the blink of an eye.
أَمْسَيْنا وَأَمْسَى الْمُلْكُ للهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمَيْنِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّي أسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ هَذَه اللَّيْلَةِ فَتْحَهَا ونَصْرَهَا، ونُوْرَهَا وبَرَكَتهَا، وَهُدَاهَا، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا فيهِا وَشَرَّ مَا بَعْدَهَا.
We have entered the evening and at this very time all sovereignty belongs to Allah, Lord of all the worlds. O Allah, I ask You for the good of this night: its triumph, its help, its light, its blessings, and its guidance; and I take refuge in You from the evil that is in it and the evil that follows it.
اللّهُـمَّ عالِـمَ الغَـيْبِ وَالشّـهادَةِ فاطِـرَ السّماواتِ وَالأرْضِ رَبَّ كـلِّ شَـيءٍ وَمَليـكَه ، أَشْهَـدُ أَنْ لا إِلـهَ إِلاّ أَنْت ، أَعـوذُ بِكَ مِن شَـرِّ نَفْسـي وَمِن شَـرِّ الشَّيْـطانِ وَشِرْكِهِ ، وَأَنْ أَقْتَـرِفَ عَلـى نَفْسـي سوءاً أَوْ أَجُـرَّهُ إِلـى مُسْـلِم.
O Allah, Knower of the unseen and the seen, Creator of the heavens and the earth, Lord and Sovereign of all things, I bear witness that none has the right to be worshipped except You. I seek refuge in You from the evil of myself, and from the evil and shirk of Satan, and from committing wrong against my soul or bringing such upon a Muslim.
أَعـوذُ بِكَلِمـاتِ اللّهِ التّـامّـاتِ مِنْ شَـرِّ ما خَلَـق.
I seek refuge in the perfect words of Allah from the evil of that which He has created.
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ وَبَارِكْ على نَبِيِّنَا مُحمَّد.
O Allah, send prayers, peace and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad.
Whoever invokes blessings upon me in the morning and the evening will be granted my intercession on the Day of Resurrection.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنَّا نَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ أَنْ نُشْرِكَ بِكَ شَيْئًا نَعْلَمُهُ ، وَنَسْتَغْفِرُكَ لِمَا لَا نَعْلَمُهُ.
O Allah, we seek refuge in You from associating anything with You knowingly, and we seek Your forgiveness for that which we do not know.
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْهَمِّ وَالْحَزَنِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْعَجْزِ وَالْكَسَلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ الْجُبْنِ وَالْبُخْلِ، وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ، وَقَهْرِ الرِّجَالِ.
O Allah, I seek refuge in You from anxiety and sorrow, I seek refuge in You from helplessness and laziness, I seek refuge in You from cowardice and miserliness, and I seek refuge in You from being overcome by debt and being overpowered by men.
أسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ العَظِيمَ الَّذِي لاَ إلَهَ إلاَّ هُوَ، الحَيُّ القَيُّومُ، وَأتُوبُ إلَيهِ.
I seek the forgiveness of Allah, the Mighty, whom there is none worthy of worship but Him, the Living, the Self-Subsisting and Supporter of all, and I turn to Him in repentance.
يَا رَبِّ , لَكَ الْحَمْدُ كَمَا يَنْبَغِي لِجَلَالِ وَجْهِكَ , وَلِعَظِيمِ سُلْطَانِكَ.
O my Lord, to You belongs all praise as befits the majesty of Your Countenance and the greatness of Your authority.
لَا إلَه إلّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ وَهُوَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءِ قَدِيرِ.
There is none worthy of worship but Allah, alone, without partner. His is the dominion and His is the praise, and He is over all things omnipotent.
It is equal to freeing ten slaves for him, a hundred good deeds are recorded for him, a hundred bad deeds are erased from him, and it is a protection for him from Satan.
اللَّهُمَّ أَنْتَ رَبِّي لا إِلَهَ إِلا أَنْتَ ، عَلَيْكَ تَوَكَّلْتُ ، وَأَنْتَ رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيمِ , مَا شَاءَ اللَّهُ كَانَ ، وَمَا لَمْ يَشَأْ لَمْ يَكُنْ ، وَلا حَوْلَ وَلا قُوَّةَ إِلا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ , أَعْلَمُ أَنَّ اللَّهَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ ، وَأَنَّ اللَّهَ قَدْ أَحَاطَ بِكُلِّ شَيْءٍ عِلْمًا , اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ نَفْسِي ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَابَّةٍ أَنْتَ آخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا ، إِنَّ رَبِّي عَلَى صِرَاطٍ مُسْتَقِيمٍ.
O Allah, You are my Lord, there is none worthy of worship but You. In You I place my trust and You are the Lord of the Mighty Throne. Whatever Allah wills happens, and whatever He does not will does not happen. There is no power and no strength except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great. I know that Allah has power over all things and that Allah encompasses all things in His knowledge. O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the evil of myself and from the evil of every creature that You hold by its forelock. Indeed, my Lord is on a straight path.
A good and wholesome remembrance.
سُبْحـانَ اللهِ وَبِحَمْـدِهِ.
Glory is to Allah and praise is to Him.
His sins will be wiped away even if they are like the foam of the sea. No one will come on the Day of Resurrection with anything better than what he brought, except one who said the same as he said or more.
