كَمۡ اَهۡلَكۡنَا مِنۡ قَبۡلِهِمۡ مِّنۡ قَرۡنٍ فَنَادَوۡا وَّلَاتَ حِيۡنَ مَنَاصٍ

How many a generation have We destroyed before them, and they [then] called out; but it was not a time for escape
